About
The ongoing series Stringsculptures is about the interaction of architecture, computer animated design and yet - like in this case - a real sculpture, lit in a special
way for the purpose of creating analog photographs. The displayed patterns do consist of various synthetic or natural fiber string-material, being held in place by
a 3x3 ft metal-frame. In addition the frame itself is equipped with some 200-400 pcs of 10-20" inch long fine thread machine bolts, onto which the string-material
is being placed in multiple layers in order to create a true third dimension, in both the binary and analog worlds..
The series Surfaces looks at today's skyscraper facades, pictured and color-filtered in a way, which - at first sight - makes them appear to be some kind of
completely computer animated design, at second sight though bringing it back to a real & existing, analog structure - photographed, processed & printed
without any manipulation, except for the application of color filters commonly used in analog black & white photography.
The series Reflections is about those typical reflections, which can be seen during sunrise or sunset produced by sunlight, rather in summer time,
creating glooming & rich in detail reflections on the vast glas surfaces of today's skyscraper glass-structures. By specifically exposing each picture
on just the highlights of the refelction, it is possible to sort of create the illusion as if those buildings pictured where on fire.
