About the Photographer
Marc Lins, born and raised in the mountainous region of western Austria near Feldkirch. After attending Business School an
d
graduating from the Austrian School for Fashion Design and Textile Industry in 1995, Marc decided to take up photography by
aiming for a 3 year photography apprenticeship in 1996.
Shortly after finishing the apprencticeship he traveled Europe, mostly between Italy, Germany and Austria, which deepened his
interest for the subject, before he decided to move to the United States in the year 2000.
He then continued to refine his skills, focusing on Architectural- Interior- and Industrial photography, which soon earned him a
unique reputation in those fields. So far Marc's work has been published with numerous print- and online publications, amongst
others for Interior Design, Departures, DA Magazine, Details, Domes, DB, GAM, ORIS Magazine, +Arquitectura as well as for
the catalogue of the austrian pavilion at La Bienale in Venice.
His book publications include 'New American Interiors', 'Neue Dachausbauten' and 'Marte.Marte Architects – a Monologue',
which won the Austrian Federal Award in 2008 and the Silver Medal with the German Award 'The most Beautiful Book in
the World' in the year 2009.
Marc Lins currently lives and works in New York City and Europe.
